Outside Birds
I feed my outside birds all year round. They have gotten so use to me or they know I am bringing goodies they don’t even fly away. I always have my dogs out when I am outside . The birds don’t fly away them ether. My dogs live with Sasha the bird so the outside birds figured out they don’t bother them and they keep cats out the yard.
We have had a mild winter that is until 2 weeks ago. We had a wind storm and there were so many power outages and I was one of those households that lost power. I had to send Sasha the bird away to my son’s house because she is a African Grey and the cold would kill her. I missed her and her chattiness so much. I had no power water or heat for four days. It was a good thing I had four dogs to snuggle with.Well I got my power ,water and heat back on and Sasha came back home and then we get a March snow storm. Almost 2 feet of snow , more wind and temps 0 degrees with wind chill.I had to make sure my outside birds had plenty to eat because it was a hard storm to live though. The birds see me walking though the snow with all the goodies and stay where they are because they are not missing out. So I fill the feeders, and the suet cage and throw unsalted peanuts in shells on the ground for the blue Jays. (I love watching them grab and go) and walk away. Time for taking some pictures. Here are some of the pictures I took of my outside birds during our 3 day snowstorm.
